The objective of the game is to be the first to reach 100, each player choses a different colored pawn and places it on the first square, each player then throws the die in turn and the first to throw a six starts the game, the rest of the players follow clockwise. if you are fortunate enough to land on a square that contains the start of a ladder, climb it. if you are unfortunate enough to land on a square which contains the head of a snake slide down it.
